Many people mistake the film for an adolescent male exploitation film, when in reality it was probably meant to subvert the genre of adolescent male exploitation films, and it just missed the mark (obviously, as most people didn’t get what the director was trying to do). It was an interesting premise, none-the-less, even if the film failed to reach its potential.

great review but I do not agree that sweet pea and baby are the same person. I think instead the director was trying to show the audience that the tragedies that women face are common among them. I realize the whole sister thing is in both characters. But i think again, it is about the loss of someone close that many people experience and how sometimes people grow apart and want different things which may lead to a complete severance. It is about how ultimately we all face some of the same struggles. I could be wrong, you might be right. But to me, Sweet pea represents the exception to the rule. Not as a alternate ending for Baby.

You definitely have to watch it again to understand and its worth it.
I didnt even notice its takes place during the 1950s-60s period.

Suckerpunch reminds me of the Matrix, Wizard of Oz mixed with The Twilight Zone. Such a awesome movie.
I always knew about Suckerpunch and finally saw it online during COVID.
Im a guy and my first impression was similar expecting fast food and getting a four course meal.

Dude I feel that you're spot on ,I mean I watched that movie many times and couldn't figure out why I was fascinated with it. I'm a story line guy and if it's not a story like a good mystery then it's just fluff. Like Emily's brownnings "A series of unfortunate events,witch I thought was very interesting. Yeah thanks man

The film is for people who are getting through it or already have. Everybody else is just along for the ride. Zac did something very great here.

It’s hilarious how every Zack Snyder films needs a directors cut to make it more palatable… seems to be a common theme - well the film may not be great, but wait until the directors cut. I liked this movie. I’m not sure it’s all 1 character. I’m not sure it’s even as deep as indicated here. The opening sequence is pretty amazing

So many great points some I saw at the time some I hadn't noticed. But the best point to counter all the idiots who missed the point is this to a twelve year old boy ALL women are intimidating sexy confident one's who know kung fu and expertly wield Katana's axes and gun's are the stuff of nightmares. Every man fantasies about his dream girl but in a dream you are rarely the one in control.

SP is a masterpiece, probably Snyder's best. People who say that Snyder movies are bad are the same or the equivalent of those who two or three decades ago were complaining that there were not enough car chases and things blowing up in their movies and that there was too much dialog. Little kids criticizing movies meant for adults. Watchmen and DOTD ate superb and Sucker Punch is a masterpiece, a trilogy enough to make of him a legend and build his legacy, put that in your pipe.
